National Facility Computing Support – Linux and Mac OS/X sys-admin and desktop support, for Linux it’s server and desktop. A variety of other sys-admin related duties as well (see the full advert for details). The pay is up to $81K + super and possibly relocation expenses.
MIRANdA Project Computing Support – developer support for new software to manage telescopes. Includes maintaining the build environment, updating the OS and some sys-admin work. The pay is up to $81K + super and possibly relocation expenses.
Both positions are only open to Australian residents. The web pages for these positions have a lot of detail and my summaries probably don’t do them justice. If you have the slightest interest in working for the CSIRO then I suggest you visit their web site.

It seems to me that we need to have syndicated feeds for Linux job adverts. To start this I have created this blog for Linux job adverts, it will have categories for the states and territories of Australia (with a feed for each category) and I will also create Planet installations that take feeds from the blog as well as any other Linux jobs RSS feeds. I will create the Planet installations when I have feeds to add.
If your company regularly advertises Linux jobs in Australia then please create an RSS feed of the adverts and I will syndicate it. If your company occasionally advertises Linux jobs then you can email them to me.
This was announced on my personal blog which is syndicated on Planet Linux Australia.
